ACCESS CONTROL

Access control systems allow you to restrict and permit access to spaces or systems in order to protect your staff and assets. Individuals are able to gain access by providing credentials and authentication to prove their identity. Authentication can take the form of something that is known by the individual (PIN number, password), something that is physical to the user (finger print, eye scan) or something that belongs to the user (key card, fob).

Access control can be used to meet OHS requirements for offices, warehouses, factories, manufacturing, and other commercial building’s facility management needs. Our systems can be used for both internal access between offices and external entry/exit points.

Types Of Access Control

  • Using cloud-based technology for programming and monitoring, coupled with local door controllers and cameras to provide real-time monitoring and reporting.
  • Door entry/exit with Integrated CCTV Camera System which allows live viewing when an event occurs such as door access.
  • Server-less technology which allows the facility management to be run in the cloud, stored offsite in a secure and reliable data centre, thus minimizing IT overhead to have costly infrastructure located on-site.
  • Guest entry Kiosks that allow guests to electronically register themselves with their phone or a tag which will allow them access to certain parts of the building, as well as for safety should a fire or event occur, all people can be accounted for on electronic tag boards.
  • Messaging to phones registered to guests and access control users to notify of events and alarms.
  • Rapid deployment using a scalable plug and play architecture.
  • Magnetic locks and door strike entry systems.
  • Emergency push to exit and glass break installation.

At Electrical Security Solutions we are all qualified NZ trained electrical engineers. This makes us a one-stop-shop for anything cabling related

We keep everything under one roof assisting our clients to be able to liaise with one Organisation rather than several different ones.

We offer all Electrical Services from domestic new builds to commercial shop fit-outs…. see below for more information

Electrical Rewires and Refurbishments
Like most things, electrical cabling gets old and worn and will eventually need replacing. Don’t take a chance with a potential fire hazard. In older buildings, your electrical cabling should be checked and replaced if it has degraded.  Electrical Rewires and Electrical Refurbishment can be done with a minimum of interference, so to do your electrical rewires before disaster strikes can be very worthwhile in ensuring uninterrupted productivity.

Distribution Boards
In 2007 the Australian/NZ Standards, which included distribution boards, were updated to ensure the safety of persons should they come into contact with a faulty appliance or electrical installation. RCD (safety) circuit breakers should be installed into your Distribution Board. If you have power points that regularly trip out, this may be the sign of something more sinister. Have a qualified electrician check your Distribution Board and advise you on its suitability. It may be overdue for a refurbishment.

PowerPoints
Sick of those power boards cluttering up space under your feet, creating an OHS hazard? Cords snaking across the office floor, double adaptors and non–compliant appliances are obvious OHS breaches that should be rectified. Electrical Security Solutions can install additional power points for you.

Lighting
Over time, dust and insects settle on the light fittings and globes, reducing the effectiveness of your office lights. Electrical Security Solutions can come and change out dead globes and clean light fittings. If your Office Lighting or Factory Lighting needs upgrading or you need new lights then we can install the wiring and light fittings to keep workspaces well lit. Light switching adjustments can also be done so that offices not in use can have the lights turned off

Emergency Lighting
It is a requirement for all commercial buildings that emergency lighting is fitted and regularly tested. EXIT lights and spitfire emergency lights in case of power failure can be installed to Building Code compliance. A test switch can also be installed, making is simple to do regular checks.

UPS systems
Electrical Security Solutions also installs UPS systems for critical office equipment such as your data cabinet, PC’s, servers, phone system and Fax Machine.  An efficient UPS system not only assists in maintaining productivity in the event of power outages but can save you thousands by preventing data loss.

Contact to find out more, or simply fill in our online form and we’ll get back to you promptly with an obligation-free quote.

How it works

A split system consists of two units, a fan and an evaporator, which is usually mounted on a wall inside the property. There is also a compressor, which is generally placed outside the building. Hot air is extracted from inside the building and expelled through the compressor, while coolants cool the outside air before it is passed via the indoor unit inside your property. For heating purposes the system works in the opposite way.

Advantages of split system wall mounted air conditioners

Flexible and effective

A reverse cycle inverter wall hung split system has numerous advantages, is ideally suitable for multi-room homes, heating, and cooling one room. Also known as room conditioners (RAC), they can be easily retrofitted to houses with non-ducted heating systems in the area it is located in.

Simple to operate

A remote control allows you to easily control the temperature in your room and the system works quickly and efficiently.

Affordable

These systems are easy to install, do not cost a fortune, and require just a few cables and pipes.

Cleaner air

Most systems have a built-in air purifier keeping out dust and allergens.

We supply premier brand split system air conditioners

Screens can be placed wherever you want them, from a small screen in the bathroom to a cinema screen by the pool for the ultimate immersive film experience.

AUTOMATION

The term may be used for isolated programmable devices, like thermostats and sprinkler systems, but home automation more accurately describes homes in which nearly everything — lights, appliances, electrical outlets, heating and cooling systems — are hooked up to a remotely controllable network.

From a home security perspective, this also includes your alarm system, and all of the doors, windows, locks, smoke detectors, surveillance cameras and any other sensors that are linked to it.

Use a centralised location for your music and movies, this will allow you to listen to music and watch your movies in and around your home.

Home automation system adds convenience and potential energy-savings to your home. It is super important you engage a integration specialist in the beginning of your design stage of the project.

Lighting control keypads (switches) are programmable to control any combination of lights in and around the house. These combinations can be created, swapped or modified by one of our technicians. Global scenes can be created such as ‘Welcome home’, ‘Goodnight’, ‘Holidays’, ‘Dinner party’, etc. Lighting control is particularly beneficial in large homes allowing you to switch all lights off from one button.

Home automation systems can also include whole-house control by introducing motorised blinds and awnings, irrigation, heating/cooling, water features and so on. By adding an Ethernet interface, all automation items have the ability to be controlled by a smart phone or tablet from around your home or anywhere in the world.

Security systems and smoke detectors can be enhanced by controlling the lights during an alarm situation, turning on to full brightness inside or outside the property to quickly identify the trouble. Built-in timeclock capabilities allow all automation items in your property to be automatically controlled, for example set garden lighting to come on at sunset, inside step lights to come on 30 minutes before, blinds to open or close at certain times of the day, etc.

A monitored alarm adds peace of mind and an extra dimension to your safety.

With monitoring 24 hours a day, 365 days a year you can feel safe knowing that your home & business is being looked after while you are away. At ESS we offer the very best in local alarm system monitoring. Our local alarm monitoring station is monitored 24/7.

Digitial Dialler

The most common and cheapest method of monitoring is achieved using the digital dialler. Digital Diallers allow one-way communication from your security alarm system to our control room, and are used for low to medium security risks.

The system is connected to your existing analogue (PSTN) telephone line. Faults with your telephone line whether intentionally or not make dialler lines the most susceptible to failure, which is why they are not recommended for high risk properties.

GSM Dialler

GSM Dialler is the installation of additional hardware and this includes a mobile phone that requires a SIM card to operate. Ideal for when customers do not need a permanent telephone line or when new estates are established and telephone lines will not be available for some time. These can be a little more expensive to operate than a dialler as the SIM card is required and call costs may be incurred depending on the carrier and what plan or sort of SIM card is used.

GPRS

A GPRS service uses the mobile telephone network and is a data service similar to the EFTPOS machines used in taxi services. The GPRS was introduced to take advantage of new technology and to replace the aging Telephone network. Securitel was a Telecom service that used a pulse over a standard telephone line to check that the telephone line was still working. This was ceased as of January 2010. The GPRS service has the ability to communicate both ways between the security alarm and the control room.

Depending on the risk of your property these communications can be set to occur, from one every 24 hours down to as often as 90 seconds for high risk premises. There are several GPRS service providers available and some offer multiple paths to provide communications to our control room.

IP Monitoring

IP (Internet Protocol) Monitoring allows your security alarm system to communicate with our control room via the Internet and requires additional hardware and are an option to the GPRS services.

Electrical Security Solutions can supply and install the hardware which communicates with our control room via IP-only or IP and GPRS, providing you with the ultimate method of communication. Should one signal be lost due to tampering or other difficulties, the other will still communicate effectively. While IP only would reduce communications costs it does allow the polling rate to be even quicker as often as 2 seconds. To ensure that the IP remains working when there is a power outage the router, switches, IP/GPRS device all need to have a battery backup or UPS.

Our response options are customised to suit your individual risk security requirements in a cost effective manner.

Self Monitoring

If you have a standard dialler phone or GPRS unit connected to your alarm system, its possible to communicate directly with your smartphone. Using this service there is no 3rd Party monitoring charge.
